Guys,

My Sony PRS-505 should be making an appearnce sometime in the week and on the advice of others have installed Calibre.

I have also set about editing all the books to look tidy in Calibre ie swapping auhtor/titles, retitling some etc and my library is starting to shape up tidy.

few queries though:

Does Calibre when you edit metatag info edit the source as well or does Calibre create a copy of your files for its library which it is editing?

Also, most my books are PDF at the moent but with newer items have the option to download epub. Which is better/the best format to use generally and why?

Also does anyone ahve any nifty tips for Calibre?

I use Calibre with my PRS-300, the bundled Sony software is rubbish, amazing with all the money Sony have they still can't make decent software.

When you add a book to Calibre it creates a copy under Users\Your Name\Calibre Library and the meta data is all stored there too leaving the original file untouched.

No Calibre tips really but check out feedbooks.com if you haven't already, some really good free titles including the Rifter trilogy from Peter Watts, I've only recently finished reading the first in the series, Starfish, but was very good.
