Caliper Paint

Fox - I have exactly what you are looking for... the discussion of colour choice still remains, but I don't think you'll be needing paint anymore!!

p.s. - you really can sell anything on ebay lol

coloured brake calipers only look good if they are powder coated, colours look balls painted on, the finish is never right.

Black or, at a push, silver are the limits of normal paint if you don't want it to look like crap

Black tbh. Took the calipers off, masked off any parts which needed masking. Used a wire brush on angle grinder/drill then for the more detailed areas a dremel brush. I used high temperature stove paint as its what i had at home at the time. Worked a treat, just a bit brake dusty in the photo.

one of my alloys was almost totally stuck to the hub because of rust.....

makes sense to me.

It makes no sense at all, you should never paint machined mating surfaces. To prevent corrosion apply some copper grease to the spigot and mounting flange before fitting the wheel, do not paint it.

Painting the area between the mounting flange and the swept friction surface is ok, but inevitably it starts flaking off after a while.

yup copper-eaze is the way forward, I copper-eaze bloody everything :D

Please please don't do them red. As others have said normal calipers painted red just look cack and cheap. I wasn't overly amused when 1 week after I fitted my brakes the chav across the road painted all the calipers on his Megane red. Luckily he rolled it a week later so I never had to see it again :).

Standard brakes painted red, hmm...

i might paint mine blue.... dunno. or just black....hmmm? lol

As mentioned copper-slip for the win, my tyre changer always cleans the hub and applies copper-slip to the hub, result minimal rusting and the wheel comes off with little of no effort.

I painted mine using halfords high temperature engine paint i got the matt finish, i then used some humbrol matt white enamel paint for the Nissan lettering on the calipers
