If Doom was made today it would so be made like this, Doom 3 was pretty close.

Why has gaming descended it point and click CGI cut scenes?

I find it terribly tiresome to the point where I only play World of Tanks and ArmA2

Battlefield is still decent, the one last bastion of the fps game. Duke Nukem Forever was awesome, very old school, but got slated. :(

Why? because Call of Duty pulls immense sales figures, Black Ops 2 grossed $500 million in 24 hours and all designers and publishers of FPS games really need a piece of that pie. Don't get me wrong, some of my best gaming days were in Quake 2 and Quake 3, but the genre has evolved (some would say devolved).

who the **** buys fps'ers for their campaigns anyway?
topic is irrelevant!

everyone wants a piece of the online shooter genre, many have failed (MOH inc MOH WF, Crysis 2, Homefront) whilst COD and BF remain the online kings despite their flaws.

MOH has some potential, but the mouse acceleration is awful, the game is an awful shoddy, despicable console port!!!
