Call of Duty 4 multiplayer not working...

Hi all.

Call of Duty 4 multiplayer does not seem to work on my new rig running Vista x64.
The single player works fine, but when I click on the multiplayer shortcut it crashes saying "iwmp3.exe has stopped working."

I have reinstalled it with no luck.

Any idea why this is happening?
 
I read somewhere that if you search your computer for the file "iwmp3.exe", you should find it. Then moving it into the COD4 directory will solve the problem.

I don't have the problem so I can't comment on it - but good luck!
 
I've managed to fix it by following instructions on Yahoo Answers;

Control panel>Hardware And Sound>Sound>right click inside white box and click show disabled devices>click the recording tab>right click the one thats disabled (stereo mix) and enable it

Looks like a bug with CoD4.
