Call Of Duty 4, New Maps On The Way!

I was playing Scene it? with my mate last night whilst we were waiting for the food to be delivered. :p.

I'll play CoD4 in MP with or without achievements, but I would most likely return to it more often with the achievements anyway, but I have been side-tracked by PGR4 (which I wanted to get out the way before Burnout Paradise). Once I have my little 3D project complete I will go back to Mass Effect as I was loving it.

Excellent news, not played this for a while as I finished the SP mode and only barely touched the MP side of things! Should definatelty get me back into this once I've got all of my other games done and dusted! :)

These new maps had better be free DLC. Plus they better get these patches out soon and fix the lag. Why pay more money for multiplayer content when multiplayer hardly ever works?

Not a hope. It will be 1200-1400 points. Thats not a fact but it's pretty much around the cost of GRAW and R6 packs.

I suspect the fact this is on ps3 as well will reduce the prices overall. As far as I have seen all ps3/360 content is priced the same when you convert MS points to US $.

Plus, surely Activision have learnt from their overpriced GH2 fiasco? (Assuming Activision have a say in the pricing of the DLC).

1200 points is $14.99 ish and I have not seen anything that pricey on PSN ever (for game addons, apart from maybe Oblivion).

I don't think I would buy for that much, unless everyone I knew bought it and signed an oath in blood to play the new maps online with me :)

How did they learn a lesson with GH2? Isn't GH3 content the same cost? Didnt think of the multi format issue but then again Graw and R6 are multi format as well and cost around 1200-1400 points.

How did it ruin Halo3 Kreeee?

yeah, but GRAW and R6 came to ps3 later (is GRAW 1/2 even on ps3?), so the DLC prices were already set and people had bought it at the "high" price.

I am assuming with the simultaneous releases (like GH3 and Rock Band and EA content) on PSN/Live we will see the equal prices that we say at the moment. (Or it could have the opposite effect and mean the ps3 content is boosted up in price!!)

I just checked, and you are right, GH3 content costs the same as GH2 (albeit more frequent updates, the price is still too high). Clearly they didn't learn. they seem to have interpreted the negative feedback V2 got as a "we will pay high prices if you release more content", whereas gamers are probably thinking "give us more frequent content, and make it cheaper, then we will buy more!"

Activision can pick any price they want on PSN, Microsoft have a big say on Xbox Live.

Really? (I mean I knew that was the case for MS published games, ala Gears of War DLC fiasco, but did not realise it was across the board).

I think 800 points will be a fair price. Every piece of 1200 point content has had some backlash (having said that people still buy it anyway!!).

I didnt, as much as I liked GOW I didnt buy the add on packs. I think the game maker could see the benefit in selling the add on stuff for free, it makes you keep hold of the game and there isnt as many 2nd hand copies trading houses. MS obviously didnt or dont care about that.

If I knew free content was coming every 6 months or so I'd hang on to some of my more used titles.

For extra levels on SP games I understand the cost, for updates and add on's to the multiplayer game I think that should stay free.

Yeah, when George Bain was talking about it he said a lot of indie games are in the pipeline on the PSN rather than Xbox Live purely because of the pricing aspect and network support Sony offer which explains games like Calling all Cars, Rub-A-Dub, PAIN etc...

He said it's the same for anything, be it game additions, modifications or PSN games and that, that wasn't the case on the Xbox360.
