Call of Duty 1 is coming to the PSN and Xbox Live.

The original PC title that launched the Call of Duty franchise is finally getting the console treatment, as an ESRB rating reveals an impeding release on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Not only does the ESRB rating for Activision's Call of Duty suddenly include the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the European review board PEGI also lists it, specifying Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network as methods of delivery. The original Call of Duty never saw a console release, being a PC exclusive from developer Infinity Ward back in 2003.

It should be interesting to see how the first installment of this Infinity Ward s*** holds up. Hope it's still deep and hard.

Amazing game, with some of the best multiplayer action around. Trench warfare, with both sides popping garands and k98s at each other? Yes please. Call of Duty, before all the children came to the series.
 
Cod 1 both single player and multi was sublime. for me it was the high point of the series (followed by 4)


if it's a full release with multiplayer functionality then i'm there.
 
CoD1 was amazing, but a lot of that was down to the controls and that simply won't translate well :(

CoD 4/WaW are much more sedate compared to the "snap-aim, fire" of CoD1.

Umm it wasn't quite as hardcore as you seem to recall, the CoD playing populace hasn't changed from one version to the next and CoD mp was the same in concept and execution as any other version.

good news though it's a well produced and very fun game.

CoD is a stroll through an old peoples home compared to CoD4... What CoD did you play?

Perhaps the recollections of the original CoD are somewhat blurred as CoD1 was the first fps to have the level of intense combat that is now par for the course for any fps.
 
Can someone link me to some footage? I'm getting no joy off the tube...or anywhere else. Seen a couple of screens though.

Eh? I'm willing to bet that if you went back to the original you would get your backside handed to you. No hardcore mode for a start, plus much faster gun movement means its far more intense

No I wouldn't I have cod 1 installed, possibly your rose tinted spectacles hand you an advantage.
I played CoD 1 to death way back when.
