still not worth it in my opinion.

SP is average at best with a stupid storyline and no real stand out moments (the stupid airport level is just a cheap way of creating publicity) and the MP is a complete joke.

It's still selling well. Has not been out of the top 10 on steam since it came out. BFBC2 is above it though.

imo MW2 is good MP if you want an arcade style FPS when you can just run around playing solo. Some hate this, I like this myself. I don't think the cheating is high enough personally to annoy me as i don't see it often. If cheating is rife then it must be being done by 10 year olds with the reactions of OAPs generally. I would not recommend getting stimulus. To play the extra maps you have to play them on random game modes, had a few games but when i fancy a mindless blast nowadays i just go for the random maps.

I would not recommend it for single player, it is seriously short, unless you fancy the tactical mode levels thing which i admit i have never tried.

BFBC2 MP is also very popular, i think it is suited to more serious gamers with a higher level of realism and much more focus on team play. Also it has dedicated servers. MW2 does not and suffers for this, IWnet and the game lobby can be a pain in the arse at times. But has been stable for a good while.

I have played 400+ hours on this. £18 is a bargain if you find it suits you. Steam have done a few free weekends i think, might be worth trying the game for free the next free weekend before you buy.

Not really Cod4 is what you want for that.

Mw2 is just bad with local servers and poor reg
 
MW2 is the kind of game you have to not take too seriously, especially when you take into consideration the rage it can induce from cheaters and laggy local servers. Single player is really the best part of the game in my opinion. :p

Agree, its hard to tell the general cheaters from either luck, skill or lag most of the time unless its insanely blatant. I've only seen about 20 or so full on cheaters where they have 30 odd kills to 1/2 deaths, shooting people through walls, tree's etc without ever seeing them so its not as bad as people make out to be fair.

Bullet reg wise, depends on the host, if its crap just ask them to change their name to force a host migration. Most people comply with this.

Only thing to watch out for is "hacked hosts" who use their own rules. Been on 2 hacked servers out of my 70 hours played on multiplayer. One was a point one which ruins the game completely. Noticed I got 10100 points for a headshot and kill in normal team death match so I left the game straight away after noticing people leveling like mental lol. Luckily didnt damage my fun.

The other hacked host was a speed and jump hack which was actually quite amusing. Played it through just for the fun or it as it reminded me of a unreal tournament mutation mod lol

Loads of people whine about the game due to no dedicated servers then the usual band wagon "oh I hate it because other people do" ********. Pretty sad to be fair but each to their own.
 
Since I never had any intention of playing this game multiplayer, I'll wait til it's under a tenner before picking it up. Shouldn't be long now, with the next MW bound to be released soon.
 
Thing is I think with a few improvemets in would be such a good game:

of course dedicated servers or a better way of finding host. Like it does a scan if your pc and a speedtest or something to find your specs and such?

Thing is on singleplayer yesterday I was hosting a multiplayer co-op game. And it was having major lag spikes... Might have to turn my settings down from full. But with a quad core system I don't see why it lags that much

so better matchmaking system
if it was dedicated servers like cod4 then the hackers could be kicked atleast
make weapons like g18 akimbos less powerful
sniping one shot kill etc

just 1 major big change and the little fixes... Though they will never do it
 
I was just looking for a deal on this one ;) But with all the bad feedback I dunno what to do, And do you think I should I get the first modern warfare too?

personally, i'd say get CoD4:MW and skip this. its better in practically every aspect.
 
The zavvi deal is something to keep my eyes on I suppose but I just couldn't wait any longer so I just a second ago bought Cod4 MW on steam, Downloading while I eat and then some Fragging!

Wish me luck ;)

Its straight up the most disappointing game I ever bought. The SP is over quicker than a 16yr old boy would be with Jessica Alba if you know what I mean! As for the MP, is just so random. Skill counts for nothing, all the kill streaks and death streaks have made it a farce to play. You will rage from the sheer randomness of your deaths. Couple this with the lack of dedicated servers.

So yea go and buy it!
