Call of Duty MW or MW2

MW2 is the better MP experience - if it worked as intended... the original is still very good tho.

Problem is at the moment the MP is often unplayable on the host system and over-run with people using lame exploits or all out cheating - last 24 hours I've spotted tons of players who are obviously using wall hacks/texture hacks - I was using ninja/cold blood pro, their UAV was down anyway and in some cases they were shooting through smoke without any indication prior that I was there - and not just random shots incase.
Mw2 with proper dedicaed servers has the potential to be really good, but as it stands at the minute its dire. Cheating as youve alluded to is rife in the game, also i often find it hard to get into a game, when i do theres so much cheating/hacking going on its very dissapointing, player numbers dont help either. After a few rounds of mw2 online i find myself quickly exiting and loading up cod4, pick a known good server from my favourite list and proceed to have a far better experience.

I can't say I have noticed many hackers. Someone said I hacked because I had a lucky headshot through smoke earlier so I guess people are obviously aware that it happens very often.

One thing I have noticed is a large amount of terrible players who apparently have full 10x prestige and level 70, or any other high level of prestige. I'm guessing that is something else which is exploited.

killstreaks are beefed up

Hang on, you rate that as a plus? The reward for killstreaks should've started and stopped with Radar even on the original. In large games the sheer number of airstrikes and infinite choppers was ****ing ridiculous, never mind the crap they've made it even worse with.

3 things wrong with MW multiplayer, Grenade Spam (including Martyrdom), no real FF enabled servers, stupidly overpowered (and glitchy) killstreak powerups. If it wasn't for them the game would've been so much better, people might've actually had to try and play on maps like Wet Work that turned into 3x Frag Grenades spamfests if they were more likely to kill allies than enemies.

MW2 is miles behind, its SP is short and its MP is terrible.

Some of the killstreaks in MW2 are good, steath bomber, EMP. But that ****ing nuke has ruined it, everyone just camps to get try get the harrier and then chopper. The best ranking system in COD was COD:UO effective but didnt take away any enjoyment away from the game for others. I agree that the maps in MW2 are very good and probably the only thing they have got right in the game.

Depends how prone you are to moaning. If you are one of the people who moan about every little thing and think that one fault is a game breaker and is the end of the world, then maybe MW is for you.

If not, I'd hit up MW2. The killstreaks are fun, the guns are satisfying, the single player is greatly enhanced by Hans Zimmer (both stories are farfetched and unrealistic, but if you recognise it's just a medicore singleplayer game that's mainly based for online then it shouln't be a problem for you)

Both games are great, but I find MW2 to be superior in more ways than MW. The biggest let down is the lack of dedicated servers, but it's hardly gamebreaking.

Again I am only looking for multi-player and I am a long time gamer who prefers community over anything else in his games.

From reading this I can see that opinions are pretty divided in regards to what determines quality and it does indeed seem like they made a real mistake with no providing dedicated server support.

In the end due to the game still being expensive I have actually decided to hold off for a bit and wait until I have finished Mass Effect 2 so I can see if BF is any better.

FYI:
My main concerns with MW2 are that I couldn't abide the price tag for MW2 it does look like a good game, but is it honestly such a complete redevelopment? No, so to expect me to spend £40 on a game that isnt original, ground breaking, much of an advancement on the sequel, not providing the features I require (not want).
Ultimately the game isn't actually better than its predecessor in its current state.
