Anyone interested in this next week. Didn't even know it was coming and I really enjoyed the first one, well apart from the sneaking about levels.

The first one wasn't too bad and certainly showed promise, and I am interested in this; just with all the games out atm there's no way I'll throw 30 odd bones at it. We all know it'll be £18 very soon too...

The MP aspect looks like it could be a lot of fun. It kinda has it's own horde mode as well. Sure the graphics look dated and wont win any awards but I'd rather have a fun game.

Read the preview in GamesTM, and do fancy trying this one, but like it's been mentioned above, there are far too many games out there presently, and so i too will be waiting for a price drop.

Out today but got my pre-order yesterday. Not had chance to fire it up yet but looking forward to trying it later. Really loved the first game (great atmosphere!) and according to a friend this one is much better!

Ghostbusters is going to have to be ejected :D

Having played the first one, which i quite enjoyed...ill probably pick this up when it drops in price.

Lately they have been advertising it on the TV...one min its the 360 ad and now its the PS3 ad of the game...gfx looks ok, nothing amazing...even on the ads theres screen tearing:p.

Finished the first act and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. Best FPS I've played in a long while.

I played it for a couple of hours this morning, I wasn't keen on the first level but it definitely gets better.

Seriously, this is the first summer in ages where I haven't been sat twiddling my thumbs waiting for decent releases. I actually can't financially keep up at the moment!

On the 1st act where you have to defend the trenches and stop the enemy from landing what do you have to do? I'm firing the cannon towards and the rafts yet they don't seem to get hit, the crosshairs stay white and not red as though they're targetting. What am I doing wrong?

Aim the cross hairss WELL above the rafts (they dont have to turn red).

Easy once you suss that out.

I just did that bit. I didn't get all the rafts as men were making their way towards me, but I just kept blasting until I was told to do something else

Picked this up for my PS3 yesterday, only played it for a few hours, but I have mixed feelings for it.

  • Quite a nice looking game, not amazing as it uses a lot of hazing affects in the mid-far distance.
  • A different setting - other than the first CoJ, I can’t recall another FPS western game.
  • It plays well; the performance is decent, no noticeable stutter yet.
  • The cover system is interesting, and does work well…. at times.

Dislikes
  • The control system is rubbish – I have turned off auto aim and also tried toggling the sticky aim, yet the game still decides to help out. Arrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!
  • The Native American voice over’s are hilarious, it’s like the devs didn’t even bother getting decent actors for these, they sound American, and the son of one of them sounded like a typical angsty teen – very poor in this area.
  • Checkpoints seem a little random; you can clear a challenging part, expecting a nice checkpoint to save you the hassle of doing it all over again if something goes wrong – then blam, someone appears from nowhere and you’re dead – cue doing it all again.
  • Sometimes the ‘great outdoors’ is devoid of any natural sounds, which makes the game seem dead; iirc (played it years ago) the first game had lots of ambient sounds.

That’s about it for now, I’ll keep at it, but doubt it’ll be a replay, probably a trade in when I’m done.

Scort.

online is a hoot too, so its a keeper for me, and theres download content i expect.

You know I can't work this one out, by all accounts the mp isn't anything special really but I can't get enough of it. Think it appeals to my inner cowboy :D

I played a lot of multiplayer yesterday afternoon, seemed OK but nothing great. Didn't get a chance to try all the modes but I'll certainly play it some more.
