Something has made its home in our compost bin and is eating all our lovely worms - a rat, we assume and have a humane trap set inside to see if we can catch the bugger.

Today we have found droppings which shocked me because of the sheer size. I have kept rats and various rodents over the years and never seen any even close to these mondo nuggets. :O

For scale, that is a cantaloupe melon and an onion next to it.
Rat, or should we move?

LMAO, good memories...

But no, I seriously doubt its either of those! It seems to burrow in from underneath, eats all our worms and discarded melons, takes a dirty great big **** and buggers off again.

Its the yuckiness between the melon and the onion incase people miss it.

They are perfectly normal rat droppings from a very well fed rat. So if and when this humane trap catches you a rodent, what are you going to do with it then? And if there's one about there'll be a dozen or more....

you should really chop up whole fruit/veg before you put them in the compost, speeds it all up and more efficient.
