I recently made a thread in motors about cars, particually about cars suitable for taller people. It got quite a few replies, and I was surprised by the amount of tall people on here.

I have difficulty finding clothes to fit me, both jeans and t-shirts/shirts. Infact t-shirts is more of a problem as they all tend to be too short thus exagerating my leg length.

So where do the taller folk here at ocuk shop for their clothes? I know there are shops like high and mighty, but the selection there is not great and tends to be quite (very) expensive. Shoes are not a problem for me as im only a size 12-13 which is easy to find in most stores. Im 6'7'' by the way.

I have also heard that it is possible to get government grants if over a certain height to help the costs of expensive clothing. To me that seems like a joke or urban myth, but is there any truth in this?

I'm 6'4" and use Next for jeans mostly. Their 35" leg is just about ok.

I don't have any trouble with t-shirts though and buy these anywhere without a problem.

I find suit trousers a problem, even if buying from Next where they do 35" leg like with the jeans.. they just always appear to be very slightly shorter than the jeans.
Getting them tailored is the only way really.

6"5 and I get all my clothes off the highstreet. My jeans are from Burton and T-Shirts are from anywhere. The only pain is getting clothes of the right proportions, because a L or XL T-shirt might be made for someone who's wide, not tall.

I get by because I don't like to wear my clothes baggy or long.. or maybe I just don't have a choice ;)

i used to get my jeans from H&M as for quite a few years they did them with a 32" waist and 36" leg - i don't think they do that anymore :(

Im 6'4" and jeans are advalible most places (though im a 30" waist 34" leg which is a bit of a pain...) T-shirts are pretty easy so long as you dont have a big stomach. Some larger towns sometimes have a taller man shop, in belfast theres one called high and mighty (makes me chuckle)

Count your self lucky your not a size 14 in shoes :(

I'm short compared to some here at 6'4" but Gap do jeans with a 36" leg, I prefer baggier jeans normally but if I'm trying to look ever so slightly smarter they do the job.

T-shirts vary wildly even from the same manufacturer but Billabong, Animal and Quicksilver have some good options usually if you like branded t-shirts. If you want plain then I'm not so sure.

Im the same. everything is far too wide. We got some new clothes for work and we got 4 Dickies work polo shirts. they fit me perfectly. Id wear them out if they didnt have my works logo and name on them lol.

I'm 6'4" and I can get Levi jeans to fit me, but only a few models. I'm currently wearing 508/34W 34L which are fine. However the last time I went to the Levi shop I couldn’t find them any more since everyone seems to be selling this "skinny" jeans **** which makes any taller that a midget look like a complete spanner.

I don’t like the clothes in Next or Gap etc, so it looks like I’ll be paying a lot of money for jeans in the future since the only others I can find that fit are £100+ jeans from independent shops.

Hi there, great thread idea, I did read your other thread about cars and was too lazy to reply. Which is shameful because I'm always complaining about how hard it is as a tall person and how little or no help.

I'm 6 foot 8 and 16 stone (just gone on a diet, down from 17 stone) and a size 13 shoe.

Cars to avoid, Vauxhall Astras, I have an SRi and the seat has became ****** because I am so tall I have to sit bow legged as my legs are too long to fit under the steering wheel, meaning the side bolsters are ******.

I find clothes very hard, for smart clothes Slater Menswear is the only place I seem to have any luck, I cannot get any trousers or shirts on the high street as I have an inside leg of 38" and require sleeves that are 36".

Jeans are the hardest item to get, I only have 3 pair and none of them fit me properly in the crotch as they are just really baggy 36" inside legs which means the crotch is like MC Hammer. Trainers are a problem too, although I have recently found DC Shoes trainers fit pretty good in size 13, but I can't really get any clothes on the high street other than t-shirts or the odd jumper.

I get my stuff from Big Ozzy (unreliable sometimes tho) , walktall, high and mighty and a couple other shops. I've found that shops are starting to sell bigger trainers/shoes, couple years ago I'd be lucky to find size 13 in the shops in town but now i can easily find size 14's (which is my size ).

Clothes are a bit more difficult, it seems that even if i buy some jeans or a shirt for my size they are always either too small or too big. I've got very long legs and arms so finding decent fitting clothes is tough.

Because my arms and legs are unusually long I find it almost impossible to fit into the drivers seat of a car and struggle most of the time with passenger seats even with the seat right back.I've tried mondeo's , laguna, astra's and they're all either impossible to drive in or just too uncomfortable to be worth driving. The only car ive had success with was a honda accord aero deck(auto) . The lack of clutch pedal made things loads easier.
