Can't bring myself to it!

An older gentleman I am currently doing business with is called Richard, however he goes by the name Dick. Not knowing him, I can't seem to refer to him as Dick, childish as it may be :p
Even on emails, I just responded to one where the title was 'Re: Dick..... '
I just feel as if it is a cheap insult and I can't do it :(

Why you would go by that is beyond me....

I am sure he is used to it.
Make sure you don't accidently add words that might come across badly such as this
"Dick, head towards that method as it might be better"

My name's Richard and hardly anyone calls me Dick, the Chuckle Brothers did once when they signed a photo for me. It's only annoying if someone is doing it because they think it's funny, if it's just used as a nickname then it's ok. I get Ricky in work and it annoys me more than Dick. Normally go by Ric, Rich or Richard though.

There was an old racecar driver called Dick Johnson who used to come into?? No wait enter my errr visit my place of work every now and then. :P

true story

My house mate is called Dick by everyone at his work. And he's a copper.

I just can't bring myself to say it though. Don't these people know that Dick is another way of saying willy?!

On the topic of innuendos a customer by the surname of 'Cockin' cropped up today.

I have seen the pudding referred to as 'Spotted Richard'.

Could be worse, could be this poor guy from Scotland!
