Came up with this spec.

Id get the 620W if you going for the matrix..

It does actually suggest a 600W PSU..

Scratch that, mixed wires. :)

Doh, can`t believe I forgot that. :o

Nice spot mate. :D

You need to feed tons of power to a beast of a video card like this,
so ASUS equipped the card with two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Assuming
the card can pull the proper 150W from the PCI Express 3.0 slot and
each of the 8-pin power connectors it means that this card has 450W of
power going to it. Due to this ASUS suggests a 650W power supply with a
+12V current rating of 42A for proper operation of the entire PC. ASUS has a pair of LED lights under each PCIe power connector.

decided to go with a more expensive motherboard that would be more future proof in that i could add another R9 280X at a later date should i need more power. Also went with the corsair psu for the same reason.I already own a good SSD so will just use that, saves re installing windows etc..

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card £245.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £185.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard - FREE Gigabyte M8000x Gaming Mouse £143.99
1 x Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case - Black (CC-9011035-WW) £134.99
1 x Corsair 2013 Edition Gamer Series GS 700W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020064-UK) £79.99
1 x Patriot Viper "Sapphire Blue" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G213C1KBL) £69.95

1 x Corsair AF140 Quiet Series Low Noise High Airflow - Single Pack (CO-9050009-WW) £14.99
Total : £915.86 (includes shipping : £12.50).

Needs a bigger PSU ideally.

I seen some rather large wattage use with a pair of 280's with a overclocked i7 socket2011 especially in Crysis3.

Go for a 850W PSU:)
