Depends on how responsible the breeders are, I suppose.

I remember my biology teacher, who was a Dalmatian lover, telling us about how bad the standards that Crufts sets for breeds were.

This was while we were learning about genetics and he had a real issue with the way that the competition encouraged inbreeding to the point of causing pain and suffering for many breeds.

His view was that no responsible breeder would ever get involved in the competition.

This was back in the early 90s and it appears things haven't got much better.

To be honest, they are reporting on a story that actually happened. It isnt anywhere near as low a standard as the Express and the Sun has been recently. The whole AI created bitcoin and stuff?

Also no fear mongering lined racism that the DM often churns out. The guardian is not amazing but a step above the usually quoted papers on GD
 
Hey, if people are into it then whatever floats their boat, not like they can easily run the typical female human beauty contest over there. Crufts is pretty strange too, though I'm not sure they've gone in for the botox yet - more about breeding dogs to conform to strange breed standards.
