were they that bright when you were looking at them?

yes they were I had seen them 3-4 times earlier in the week and was a little disheartened as they looked not much brighter than a pale green cloud. But on my last night in Tromso I got a fantastic display It was so active they were all over the sky, the coronas were impressive But the best part of the display really was when all of a sudden the sky just came alive and they all started 'dancing' it was then that the violets started to come out. Must have been a peak in activity as there was fast movement everywhere.

The only negative thing I can say is that they are not as green as in the photos, but certainly as bright and the most impressive thing I've ever seen
