I know there was a thread somewhere talking about the RS4 rapid strap, but alas i cant find it, so here's another, ... sort of.

Today arrived a 'Quick Strap' that i ordered on the 24th March from a well known auction site £29.99 delivered.

First impressions are very good, really well packaged, and the strap its self came in its own little bag...how cute.

The materials used seem first rate, really high quality webbing and stitching.

The fixing plate (which has a nice rubber pad) and clasp look and feel of real quality. Ive road tested it today dangling my D90 with 24-70 F/2.8 hanging off it for 2 hours walking around mudeford in Dorset with no problems, as far as i can see there is no need to pay the £50+ for the 'original' RS4.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but what does this strap do that the original Nikon strap doesn't?

EDIT: After looking at the photo's, I see that you're able to remove the camera while wearing the strap... I get it now! :o

think i may invest in one of these for my pending Venice trip, trust me a link please?

i need to get a longer strap, but i managed to make one in 5 mins for a cost of nowt. my tripod's quick release plate has a small d-ring connected to the screw, and i happen tio have a metal swivel clip and a couple of hefty-ish keyring thingies.

all I had to do was add my camera strap to the equation and away we go :)

I'll dig out a longer strap when i get home ;)

you could always take the screw off an old tripod quick release plate and adapt it. a lot of them already have something akin to a d ring, but theres nothing to stop you drilling a hole through it and threading a keryring...uhh...ring...through it...

I've ordered a PAP Strap, UK company so I thought I'd give them a go.

Grip arrived for the 7D today, definitely need one of these style straps now over the standard. It's bit of a beast!

Ordered the PAP Strap too. Already got a fantastic OpTech strap but this should be better for longer use or even complimenting the OpTech on a 2nd body.

I'm gonna make one when i get a chance.. i don't have an old tripod.. do you think if i went into a photography store or something they'll have a spare tripod screw? Or what kind/size screw would i need?
