If its the vans on the road to Glenrothes I'm pretty sure they only do you for doing over 79mph. Me and a friend went past it I had 79mph on GPS with the car on cruise he got done at 80mph (he had 85 indicated on the speedo) and I didn't we were about 10 car lengths apart so plenty of time for them to get both of us.
Also been told if you are just over the speed limit and don't reply to the letters they stop chasing you as they are catching so many drivers they can't keep chasing all the drivers so go after the ones that are more over the speed limit. My uncle did this and never heard a thing after the 2nd letter and that was 2 years ago.
