Having a quick browse for a rucksack for Glasto and haven't really found something thats caught my eye.

Been on Berghaus, Patagonia, Millets...where else/what brands should i take a look at?

I love the Patagonia ones but they don't seem to have a 65L rucksack - only holdalls.

Anything cheap. It'll get wrecked and you'll only have it on for a few hours.

Cotsworldoutdoor, snow and rock are other high street stores.

You want something with around 65L capacity? Get a medium North Face Base Camp Duffel. They're comfortable enough to carry around on your back/are bomb proof/etc. It'll last forever.

This is a good shout and they're currently £60~ on Amazon.

If you need something more "back-packy" I'd recommend something by North Face, not cheap but their gear has always been flawless for me, I've got a 40L backpack that has taken some serious abuse over the last 6 years and hasn't missed a beat.

Absolutely this. Unless you're planning to do proper backpacking with it then it isn't worth spending any really amounts on one for a festival.

I ended up with some no-brand 70L pack from Tesco's for about £20. It's not as comfy as some brands but it's not too bad and has served me well for a load of festivals, plus i'm not bothered if it gets ripped/muddy etc.

Where i would spend the cash, and if you're planning to drive down, is on a decent sack truck or cart (preferably something with big chunky tyres). They're an absolute life saver, especially with somewhere like Glasto where it can be a bit of a trek between the car park and your pitch.

Vango are typically pretty good too, but you can usually find something from any of the big names that's heavily discounted somewhere. Most important thing is that it's comfortable on you.

for a festy id use carrier bags, but for fishing i have a Berghaus Cyclops Vulcan that ive had for ~28 years, its such a well made bit of kit,
although one of the side pockets has a hole in the bottom from where some kinda rodent chew through it and stole all my boillies :(

If you go down the north face route then they will price match in store if you wanted to go and check them in person before you buy. It's only at the official north face stores and the place that they're price matching have got to have the exact same bag in stock and also have a brick and mortar store. I used this when buying my bag and more recently a coat that I wanted to try on first before buying.

Correct, the external pocket and no top strap bag is the 2015 version. Mine is bright blue and stands out alright.

these are great bags i had the bright orange one back in 2000, it went all over the world with me and stood up to lots of punishment.

For Glasto, a couple of black bags.

This. Don't bother with anything over the minimum price for the space you need.

If you want it to travel with / go round the world afterwards, don't get a backpack. Trust me, just get a typical square, rollable thing. My typical travellers backpack was a pain travelling, not once did I actually need it on my back, rolling it would have worked every time and been far easier. The last thing you want in 30-40°C+ heat is a bag on your back, of any weight. You might not look like a 'backpacker', but who cares.

But, if it's just for Glastonbury, get anything to carry stuff, even if it's plastic bags :D
