Can 2 loops share a single res?

Am about to start building a dual loop configuration and was wondering whether anyone has any experience of 2 separate loops sharing one reservoir?

2 pumps
2 rads
1 reservoir

Thats assuming I can find a res with 4 holes...

assuming you did find a res with 4 holes then it would not be dual loop as the liquid from both loops would mix and therefore probably negate any advantages of the dual loop.

As above what you'd actually get is two pumps in parrallel on one loop.
And I beleive that series or twin loops is the best way to run two pumps in watercooling.
Both having different advantages.

There would be no point in doing it, as others have said. The point of a dual loop is to split the heat of all the components over multiple rads.

You could use a reservoir and T splitter barbs to negate the need for 4 holes and use just 2... but as above, bit pointless.

No reason not to try it but the only benefit I can see is the potential for balancing the temperature between the two loops. If this is your aim then using the two rads, and possibly pumps, in a single loop will not only give better performance, the performance will also be far more predictable.
