Can a computer run without a graphics card

Sorry for such a dumb question, but when it comes to computers i am dumb. I have a 4850 graphic card and i dont play any games, so i was thinking of selling it...would i need to buy another card

My motherboard is a G31M-S2L and it looks like it has onboard graphics (I think)
