I've just made a very crude lightshade for my ceiling bulb with some A4 paper. I touched it a moment ago and it was really hot. Any possibility of it catching fire :O?

Why don't you get a lamp and test it on the kitchen floor or something. I wouldn't want to risk something like that when it could fall on anything.

It's not touching the lightbulb, suspended from wire. But it does get hot. This is serious business guys. My house could burn down :(.

I'm pretty sure that a standard incandescent light bulb can reach somewhere between four hundred, and five hundred and fifty degrees Fahrenheit, so it is quite possible to light a paper lampshade..

Was expecting a bit of a better effort to be honest. :D

I wouldn't expect that to last long and the higher wattage the bulb is the quicker it's likely to kill your ceiling cat.
