Hey everyone. Im looking at getting some new RAM (currently running PC-6400 Corsair dominator which are great). My motherboard is ABIT QUAD GT with IX38 chipset using a q6600 CPU. Everest is telling me I can have ddr 3 RAM? Does anyone know if i could run ddr3 with my setup (as in sig below)? Thanks

(Details from everest-can't upload screenie atm)
North Bridge Intel Beachwood X38
Supported FSB Speeds FSB800, FSB1066, FSB1333
Supported Memory Types DDR2-667 SDRAM, DDR2-800 SDRAM, DDR3-800 SDRAM, DDR3-1066 SDRAM, DDR3-1333 SDRAM
Maximum Memory Amount 8 GB
Revision / Stepping 01 / A1
Package Type 1300 Pin FC-BGA

I wouldn't get DDR3 for my Abit motherboard anyway unless i was getting a completely new system.

more of the same? you could upgrade to 1066 or something but the real world performance will be negligable. Get more drr2 800 and then save the other money towards a new mobo/ram/cpu pack :)
