Can any computer run 64bit windows?

Just a question, i'm going to upgrade a few computers and just wondering if i can put 64bit windows on a 32bit computer if i do a fresh install? or are there some requirements to check before i try put 64bit on these computers?

You need a 64bit x86 CPU.

I think 64bit windows has some other requriements.

I think usually for 7 atleast, a little bit more hard drive space is needed and usually 2GB of Ram over the 32bits 1GB.

It does assume you want to upgrade your currently installed OS so checks installed apps for compatibility but if you ignore all that it will also check your hardware and other bits too

Most modern computers will be compatible. But as already said 64 bit will need more RAM generally and an x64 CPU.

Basic requirements are a 64-bit CPU and 2GB RAM. You can't cross-upgrade from 32-bit OS - it will do a clean installation.

Most CPUs were 64-bit starting with the later Pentium 4 600 series.
