Can anyone help? Text problem when I've been using iMessage

can anyone help me please, I like to switch between my apple phone and my android phone, but i found last time i did this when I took the sim out of the iphone 3GS and turned the phone off, when I was texting people who have a phone with iMessage on from my android phone, the message never arrives.

If I text people without iMessage from my Android phone it works fine.
 
Probably because imessage isn't supported in android? lol, if you have imessage contacts that only contain an email/apple ID, but not there actual phone number it wont send from another phone, even if there is an entry for that person in the sim card address book (i.e. has joe bloggs listed, an apple id/email but no mobile phone entry.)

Check the persons phone book entry and see if all have mobile phone numbers listed.
 
With all due respect I know that Android doesn't have iMessage mate?!! I'm not stupid!

I have phone numbers for every single contact on both devices, the iphone seems to maintain a "unique link" of some sort with that contact, which isn't letting my android text the contact. Very annoying
 
You might need to turn off imessage when you are using the android phone. A friend upgraded from iphone to android but my texts/imessage were still going to his iphone even though his sim was in the android phone. He just turned off imessage and that fixed it
 
thinking about it a bit more, you can use imessage from an ipod touch so it must use your apple ID rather than the sim/phone number and that's why my imessages were still going through to his sim-less phone.
