Can anyone help with these abstract patterns?

It's so tough man. Had 60 lectures already, got another 50 more till December. I've got no idea how I'm going to learn all the stuff for January exams

I feel your pain! We've done 75 lectures since we started, unsure how many left this year.
First exam is in 2 days (Monday). Spent the last 2 weeks solidly studying, no getting smashed for me! Also exams as soon as we get back in January. It'll be a boring Xmas for us!
Clinical skills are fun though - started venepuncture yesterday, took my first bloods from a real patient! That felt good.

Sounds good. You have exams already? Ouch, do they contribute to your first year mark?
Are you guys doing Grad Medicine or Undergrad? I was going to do Grad but I realised I wanted to have a life, passed the UKCAT, think I got about 750-760, but just couldn't be bothered pursuing it further. Not sure whether or not it was a mistake yet.
I spoke to a few people that had done Grad, or were in the process, and they said it didn't really let up while they were doing it. That was one of the biggest factors that put me off, plus the debt that would be incurred, and the fact that I was doing my undergrad followed by Grad Med back to back. I just didn't think I'd be able to give it my all, it's something that's still in the back of my mind but it will be later on now I feel, if at all.
I just got my first job after graduating, been looking for months, at first I really hated the fact I hadn't gone for it. But now that I've got a job, I kinda feel that it was right for me, at least for now.

Yeah, I'm glad I know about the option, and I also know what's coming at me with the tests involved. That's why I ended up looking in here because the title made me think of the UKCAT 
I guess it's a good backup if this job doesn't workout how I want, but I think it'll take a lot of thought on my part now, I'll probably keep an eye on this thread to see how you two get on. Good luck with it though, I can imagine it'll be a truly taxing task

Hello buddy. It's tough, very tough. They just fire information at us and don't stop
But since Jan we've moved onto scenarios, and so the teaching is now much more organised and the lecture content follows a linear path so I'm definitely enjoying it a lot more now.
How is the toon?
Just as intense I'd say, stupid amount of reading needed outside of lectures to keep up with everything! All exams and assignments have been fine though, which is nice.
Recently dawned on me that I have 6 weeks of lectures now (before a month off), then 3 weeks of lectures (before a fortnight of revision before end of year exams) then that's the first year done.
Also looking forward to the 4 month summer holiday!

At least we've both survived so far though! You only have 2 weeks of revision till end of year exams? Ouch.

Finished my last exam today. FIRST YEAR DONE!
Well, as long as I passed of course. Found these exams to be ridiculously hard compared to the others. So much stuff I hadn't revised. Fingers crossed.
4 months off now, which is ridiculous.
How are you getting on? Finished for the year? Reflection on your first year?

I failed, had resits last week, results in a couple of weeks. Very very scary times

How is 2nd year treating you?
Certainly enjoying the subjects more. Lots of anatomy, not much biochemistry now. Doing the nervous system, brain, head and neck at the moment. So much to remember. Dissecting a face was a bit strange, it suddenly got a lot more.. real.
