Can anyone recommend a decent direct browser based upload service?

So I've been using Rapidshare for the last 12 months to insert an Upload2Me upload button into one of my sites so customers can send me files.

It was absolutely fantastic, it inserted a lovely flash button like this into the page:

Which when clicked on opened the users file browser, they then select the file and are presented with a few fields to enter their name, email and a message

There's then a nice upload status bar

And finally a confirmation of successful upload

This was great because it meant customers could upload files hundreds of megs in size to me quickly and easily direct through their browser, which would then send me an email notification with a download link which I could download instantly at a speed that maxed out my net connection. Perfect.

That is until Rapidshare decided to revoke the service due to them changing their policy to require people to be registered to upload aswell apparently. Fair enough, apart from the fact that the never even notified me that it was being stopped. The flash app still loaded on my page and it wasn't until I had a customer come to pick up prints that were never uploaded....que extremely irate customer who very nearly missed a deadline and and an extremely irate me at Rapidshare. Tossers.

Anyway, moving on from that I would really like to get a replacement service because it really was a fantastic product and service and it became integral to the way my business runs. Instant email delivery of the download link is essential though due to the very tight time constraints often used for printing last minute.

I also use dropbox for people who can't for any reason upload directly through the browser or have issues for any other reason and still offer it here, however some people don't want to faff around installing things on their computer.

Can anyone recommend something similar to upload2me so I can check it out?

Cheers.

There are many file sharing sites, so would need to check them all out.

I know Megaupload allows automatically sending an email to a recipient, but obviously it doesn't have all the nice icons and stuff. Not sure on file size limits though either.

Will check out megaupload, it looks like they have something similar, thanks! :D

Anyone else know of any others just out of curiosity?

Hey Soap, thanks for that, it's pretty interesting!

I've been testing out the megaupload file uploader and it seemed alright, but I've had reports from customers of it hanging so they DB instead. And then once I get the notification email sometimes the file isn't available for download immediately due to MegaUpload server issues, so no good for for me considering most of the stuff I print is last minute stuff and I can't be waiting 30 mins for the file to become available again.

A mate also told me to check out Amazon's S3 service and code an uploader using that, which I may look into in the next week or two.

Reliability is so important and I'm really bummed that megaupload is crap considering their size :(
