Can anyone recommend speakers?

Not sure how anyone could recommend passive speakers on your budget? You'd need to add an amp, and that blows us way past £100 for anything good.

Maybe a competent 2.0 active setup. Uncomplicated and adaquate. Something like the Edifier R1600t iiis. If this is for gaming and multimedia and spotify you're more or less covered. If you want more, you'll simply need to up the budget.

It can be done, it just requires a bit of work hunting around for secondhand gear, I bought a Denon PMA-510AE stereo amplifier for £60 and a pair of Morduant Short MS902,s for £40, exactly £100, and once you have that stereo amplifier your sorted for future speaker upgrades, it's not something I'd recommend for everyone but it's definitely worth it if you do it.

Users who have some experience with good speakers, or just users in general?

Anyone can say any product is good if they have no experience of something better.

There is a certain high street electronics retailer that's closing down.

They are selling Pioneer SDJ50X speakers at great discount, would meet your description and be close to your budget, no sub but from all the reviews I've seen you won't need a sub with these.

I would take a look at Mackie Cr3's at your budget. Listened to my mates pair and can't fault them for the price. Bass is surprisingly robust with clean mid's and high'. They go more than loud enough. Under budget at about £90.00.

They don't beat my Cambridge Audio Amp and Boston a26 combo but that cost 4 times as much.
