Can anyone spec me a tidy AP?

Got mine from the rainforest place. I have one UAP-LR that comfortably covers my entire house. I was going to get a second as I have moved from a little 2 bed bungalow to a larger 4 bed house but with it centrally mounted there is no need. As mine is the 2.4 N version I'm getting about 50/18 which is not maxing out my fibres download but is still pretty decent. The AC version is tempting but the standard UAP is such a bargain in comparison. Ironically I have numerous AC devices now as I had all N ones when I bought it so dismissed the need for AC. Maybe for xmas santa could bring me one?

I got my UAP AC Lite today!

It was a bit of a pain to setup though :(

First ....the Access Point didn't Power Up when connected to either of my POE Switches ....But I got it going with the POE Injector supplied.

Then I couldn't get it to 'discover' properly using the Unifi software ....but that turned out to be a Windows Firewall issue.

But apart from that ...so far so good.!

There are a few different types of PoE (different voltages), check your device before connecting it up.

You can use this..

INS-8023AF-I

It's an inline adapter than converts normal 48V PoE to the ~18-24V that these use.

My AP-AC-Pro turned up today.

As a test I set it up in one corner of the house and tested in the opposite corner (2 floors beneath it)

Maxes out my ~75/20 connection :D

Nice! I'm loving mine. The range and quality of connection is fantastic. My house is full of old stone though so may buy another for downstairs just to give amazing coverage...

aaah! - So I have just found out that when I use the 'Instant Adapter' the 'Uplink Wire' speed in the Unifi Controller Software only shows '100' Megabits - not '1000' when I use the supplied POE Injector.

Has anyone else come across this please?

Mine says 1000, I use the supplied PoE injector, not an inline one.

-Try another set of cables.
-Verify your switch/router has a gigabit port.

Hi Virdi,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

The UAP-AC-LITE comes with a 24V, 0.5A Gigabit PoE Adapter* hence you would receive 1000 Megabit speed.

The Instant 802.3af adapter is not Gigabit hence you will not get 1000 Megabit speed.

Please check data sheet for adapters:

Hope that's helpful. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

Thanks!
