Having problems with my PC restarting when using Crossfire, works ok using each card individually, tested both in each socket too so doesn't look like a card or mainboard fault. I suspect that it's a power supply issue (the one I have is a cheap Atrix 500T 650W)

My spec is:
5200+ AM2
K9A PLATINUM
2x Sapphire HD2600XT GDDR4 (in Crossfire)
4x 1Gb OCZ Platinum 2 6400
1x WD 250GB SATAII HDD
1x ASUS Lightscribe DVD-RW SATA
1x Samsung 160GB PATA
1x Sony DVD RW PATA

Can anyone suggest a good but inexpensive PSU that will run this system without problems? Thanks for your help.

Corsair VX 450W, Antec Earthwatts 430W or the Akasa Paxpower 460W are all good and leave headroom for future upgrades. For £47 why skimp? :)

"inexpensive" is not what you want with a PSU. NEVER NEVER NEVER skimp on this component. Look around the £60-70 mark at good brands, Enermax, Seasonic, Tagan, Akasa, Thermaltake, etc. Anything less and tbh you're wasting your money.

EDIT: Hit submit prematurely. This may be slightly overpowered for your current needs, but leeway is no bad thing with power supplies, it allows room for you to expand without having to upgrade again.

Yeah, go for one of the Corsairs. I went with the HX620 to "future proof" myself, but any of the models will suit you fine.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Corsair seems to be the favoured brand so I will save up for one of them. Will just have to settle for running one graphics card for now until I get the new PSU in.

Will have an Atrix 500T 650w PSU up for sale soon, anyone interested? :D

thing you have to remember when getting a psu is what you're kit is worth.

By this i mean you can buy a cheap psu, but the concern is that if that blows it could take the rest of you're kit with it.

so why scrimp on £10/£20 when the thing could ruin kit with £100/£200.
