Thanks for using OCUK Insurance. We'll be with you shortly.

Basically yeah it's probably do-able, depends on how much he's willing to pay.

Well first off it's bought not brought.

Check places like www.norwichunion.co.uk and www.endsleigh.co.uk they both do a lot more cover than places like Direct Line, and they do it at a lot less of the price. Something like that though may require him/you to phone for a quote as they don't always like you to run quotes on large vehicles.

I ran a quote for myself on a Peuget 306 GTi-6, and Endsleigh gave me a quote of £3500, I'm 19, almsot 20 (end of the week) and have two and a half years experience, and no noclaims as I had to cancel my insurance in September.

It should cost him a rather large amount to insure, so a phone quote is most likely.

In an ideal world the answer would be no and that would be from everyone.
I wouldn't be bothered if he could afford it.
I wouldn't be bothered if he thought he was the best driver ever.
Somebody with that little experience should simply not be allowed to own/drive such a vehicle.

TBH

And it also means if/when he stacks it, there's one less out there and my search for a new car gets harder... :D

Anything is insurable.

You could be 18yrs old, only just passed your test and insure an Aston Martin/Ferrari through a broker. Obviously you can prepare to bend over but there is always someone who will insure you. Just depends on how much you want to pay.

Back in January I arranged Insurance on a 19 year old female student (with a wealthy Father) to drive a £90,000 Bentley Continental, Fully Comp.

Are you allowed to say how much (ball park figure)?
