Hi all seems one of my little ones has picked up nits from school (yuck) and ive seen some nasty black things in the cat

Ive pulled out what i can there very small but some times theres a large one i cant make out if there fleas or nits

Hes a indoor cat so he should not get fleas (one hopes)

would any one have any ideas if they are? (saves me time and money down the vets then)

fleas, even indoor cats can get them, my last one was plagued by the little ******* for the last 2 years of his life about 10 out of 19 of which he was a self confessed house cat, never set a foot outside except to eat grass :p

don't spray too much on it, we sprayed too much on our cat and he nearly died, he was drippling from the mouth for like a day and eyes were barely open etc lol

that will kill live fleas but chances are there are flea eggs all over him (and possibly your house). You really need a liquid flea treatment like frontline that you drop on the back of his neck that will make the skin poisonous to any eggs and potential babies. this works in conjunction with the flea collar he already has.

Also the fleas can lay eggs anywhere the cat goes - so soft furnishings should all be treated too or the cat will just be continually reinfested and eventually so will your house.

You can get a flea gas canister type thing from your vet. Make sure your rooms are fully enclosed (no open doors windows) let the thing off and it will sort of fumigate your room to kill all the flea eggs, lave, etc:)

Sorry cant remember what it's called.

I swear by Frontline. A few drops of that and they're clear for ages. Great stuff.

My friend has two cats, when she puts frontline on them one licks it off the other, and then the other returns the favour.

Don't know why that amuses me. :D
