At work, we're transitioning to Chrome but we want users to be have their bookmarks, addons etc synchronised no matter where they log on. We don't want the users to have to log on twice though.
Our AD is synchronised with Google for user credentials.

At the moment they do this:

Log on to domain with AD credentials
Start Chrome
Log on to Google using the same AD credentials
Use Chrome

I would like to eliminate the 3rd step and just have Chrome automatically log on to their Google account when they log on to a PC with their AD credentials. Is this possible without using a 3rd party SSO provider?

It is possible to federate Google Apps against ADFS. This guide shows how to do it using ADFS 2.0. If you're building a green field ADFS deployment, you would however want to built an ADFS 3.0 / 2012 R2 based farm, thought he principle would be the same.

You would need a Google Apps for business subscription in order to be able to do this, and whether or not it would be possible to sign into the actual browser (as opposed to G Apps) is another matter.
