Apart from somehow grabbing 6th place, which is unlikely tbh, is there any other way Everton can get into Europe next season.

What is the script if Liverpool win the Europa League () ? Does the 7th place team get it instead?

Anyone know.

The FA Cup winners Europa Cup spot will go to 7th place as Chelsea are in the CL and Pompey are not eligible for Europe.

I'm pretty sure that if Liverpool win the Europa Cup and finish in the top 7 then 8th place will get a Europa spot too.

So 7th might get in at the expense of pompey but what if Liverpool win the Europa league do they qualify as holders and does that mean 8th get in?

Yeah, England usually does very well out of the Fair Play League... but I doubt that Everton will be top of the English fair play league. :p

EDIT: Everton are 12th, behind Fulham, Burnley, West Ham, Wigan and Wolves.

Christ it's actually a joke how many teams get in it these days.

This.

Could there be even more with England doing well in the Fair Play League? Or is there a maximum amount.

I believe there's a spot for the best team in the fair play league (although is it just the EPL or the FL, not sure?).

That's how I'm reading things.

So for Everton to qualify (;)) we have to either:

  • Finish above Liverpool in 7th (very possible ;))
  • Finish 8th and rely on them winning the Europa League ()
Well 7th above Liverpool it is then !

I doubt it to be honest, I don't Liverpool will win the Europa League and I don't think Everton will be able to overhaul Liverpool in the league either :(

There are 3 Europa League places up for grabs.

The winners of the Europa league qualify for next yerars but an extra place isn't given if that team also qualifies through their respective league.

Ideal situation is that Liverpool finish 7th then Fulham win the Europa league just because it will be hilarious :D

(Also no, Everton won't qualify for Europe this year and to be honest it will probably be good for us, just look at Spurs)

I personally think 4th place for CL is a joke, despite the fact we have a chance to take that place.

1st and 2ns only for CL, 3rd place for FA cup winners only. I digress

As a Liverpool fan I genuinely hope we do not win the Europa League or end up in it next season. Reason being that we would end up playing most of our league games on a Sunday or Monday which completely messes up my social life!

Yep this is correct, after the fiasco a few years back in the Chumpions League where England were allowed 5 teams in they changed the rules. Winners automatically qualify but it's not an 'extra' spot, it must represent one of the choices of the given association.

Looking at the fair play league if England get a spot it's likely to go to Fulham as the teams above them (Arsenal and Spurs) will likely qualify via league position.
