Can hard drives be mounted diagonally and not horizontally or vertically

Dont ask why. Or I will hunt you down using my ocd map, and hit you on the head (diagonally) with my hunting boomerang which i carved (diagonal strokes) from wood
Yes I'm sure I've had them hanging at funny angles in the past
I wondered if long term, and uneven install might have a negative impact on something spinning as months become years.

I asked lazily wondering if I should bother installing a caddy properly for a new drive if I get one, or just pop the new drive in there, propped on top of the old one, possibly at a slight angle.
My thinking was, must I secure it properly and on the level, if I dont plan on taking the PC trampolining, jogging or horse riding.
