I have got a 120gb sata hard drive at the moment but want some extra storage space. I have an 80gb IDE hard drive lying around, so is it OK for me to just plug it in and use??

I'm assuming Windows will still boot from the sata drive? (1st boot device just set as HDD-0 in the bios)

If it is OK to do this, should I set the drive as master or slave??

Thanks for any help guys....

You can set the IDE drive to master or slave because SATA has no such designations(i.e. they are all master because only one per channel) and since the hard drives will be on different controllers you just need to check in the bios that it is set to boot from SATA first because a lot of motherboards use IDE as first boot drive still.
