Dodgy RAM slots???.......Opinions please

Hi all,

Is it possible to check and see whether my RAM connectors on the motherboard are borked or will I have to RMA the board?

I have memtested both sticks of RAM in the slot closest to the CPU socket and they pass without any errors so I am thinking that the board has some issues.

The reason I ask this is because I cannot for the life of me get the RAM to run in dual channel - the system will not boot when I have the RAM in either set of slots, it does however boot fine when I have on stick in one coloured slot and the other in the second coloured slot.

Any help appreciated

It could be that your motherboard is incompatible with your chosen memory

I'd try a BIOS update as this can improve memory compatibility

Running the latest 1.2BIOS and have also tried the previous 1.1 with no luck

Does anyone know of any compatability issues with the Abit AT8 32X and the GSkill HZ RAM?

Not those 2 in particular, bit Gskill RAM seems to be picky lately with some boards. see if you can boot it with other RAM and set the default Vdimm voltage higher.
