thats VGA you can get a vga adapter, but I don't think it will do HD.

You would ideally want an HDMI > DVI cable, which would need the connector you currently use for your PC, but you could easily switch your PC onto the VGA connection. That said, we would need to know your monitor model to know if everything would work ok with regards the HDCP protection.

But if he connects his pc via vga it wouldn't be able to do the higher ress for pc games would it or is it different?

I don't do a vast ammount of PC gaming to be honest, and I'll only be running in 1650X1050 (the maximum my Samsung SyncMaster 223BW will allow.)

So I guess that's only 1080i ?

I could swap my connectors round I guess !!

If your monitor is HDCP complient just use a HDMI to DVI cable and plug your PC into the D-SUB connector (VGA). If it isn't HDCP complient then use a HDfury and a HDMI to DVI cable again.

I use my Ps3 on my TFT just fine via VGA. You do need to shell out for a VGA conversion box but if you dont get ultra cheap then theres little to no loss in IQ plus you can run in 1080p assuming your screen can handle it.

Looking to hook my PS3 to my LG L226WTQ-SF, it does say its HDCP compliant, will it support 1080p? will a HDMI-DVI cable be fine for this monitor? or is it worth me buying a HDFury?

Thanks.

I have a PS3 hooked up to a 1680x1050 monitor with a HDMI > DVI cable and it's awesome :D

Does require a bit of blind navigation to get the PS3 to display at 1080p though since that's the only setting that gets an image on the monitor.

Okay, so I went and got a HDMI-DVI-D connector hooked my PS3 upto my LG L226WTQ-SF monitor and when I select the PS3 to auto-detect display res, it chooses 1080p but my monitor goes "out of sync" I can only use 720p which is kind of fustrating, is there anyway to get it to display 1080p? I thought the PS3 should re-scale to 1680x1050 at 1080p?

That's like asking how to put 1600x1200 on a 1280x1024 monitor. It's basic knowledge that you can't use resolutions higher than the monitor's native (highest) resolution. The PS3 doesn't scale down to your monitor resolution (or up), it can only do 1280x720 or 1980x1080. Your monitor's maximum resolution is 1680x1050, so your only option is to go for 1280x720 - or buy an Xbox 360. ;)
