Is it possible to do this on a laptop? because like most laptops im having trouble with heat and i know the gfx will be a large cuplrit so i was wondering if it is possible to disable the gfx as i dont play any games on it....
Cheers guys

Unfortunately you can't as this will not give you a output on the screen.

What GPU does the laptop use.

I already have it on a cooling pad most of the time.....Is there anything else you guys can recommend i do to keep it cooler? it is a 7200

jigsaw box + 12v 120mmfan hooked up to a 5v usb makes my latop idle around 40c.... without it it idles at 72c

i can take a picture if u like, its pretty ghetto :D and pushes a lot more air than the 5v fan "coolers" and is nearly scilent

When the graphics card is idle, which from your OP is probably all the time, it won't be throwing out that much heat. I believe your overheating problems stem from elsewhere, failing or dust clogged fan being most likely.

Supermoto please do as i am thinking of doing one myself but using one of those large coolermaster fans from the HAF cases.....How do you wire the fan up though?

the fan was from a burnt out PSU a really cheaply made one.

the usb end was from a movile phone charger

carefully strip back the wires connect the red (+) and black (n) and the two other colours make sure they do not touche and are taped out of the way.

OR you could solder it. but this seemed good at the time.

the extra hole was where i was testing with 3 5v fans.. which were noisy and didnt work half aswel as 1 big fat 120mm.

feel free to make yours more tidy

total time around 15 - 20mins

not sure about linking videos but here it is:

It is fully clean....What program should i use to underclock? and Superewza do you mean thermal paste?

Yeah, none conductive thermal paste as laptops don't generally have huge heatshields on the chips and it's likely to spread to somewhere you don't want it being electrically conductive.
