Can I display 2560x1440 via HDMI 1.4?

I was wondering can I display highest resolutions via HDMI 1.4?
I have GTX580 and Hazro 27" with dual DVI connector only.

As far as I know:

• HDMI 1.4 supports 4k x 2k resolutions
• GTX580 has mini-HDMI 1.4
• Hazro 27" screen had DVI dual link

Now, if I could get hold on mini-HDMI to HDMI 1.4 cable and then HDMI to dual DVI converter, then I could display 2560x1440 res via this HDMI, correct?

Please advise...

Why bother?

The monitor has a dual link DVI connection.

The graphics card has a dual link DVI connection.

Use a dual link DVI-D cable.

Usually the high resolution monitors have one in the box.

I know and I am using it, but wanted to know if I can go with nice thin HDMI cable
Can this be done? Would it work?

In theory it sounds possible but unless someone has done such a thing, and confirms it works, you should perhaps save your money.

FYI 4K x 2K resolution support is only at 24Hz.

You're looking at 2560x1440 at 60Hz.

Yep, which should be fine, 60Hz is what all screens work on, right?

No. Some screens are 120Hz.

The Hazros are 60Hz though.

Well, yes, 120Hz for 3D, but what I was referring to are a regular 60Hz screen we mostly use.
60Hz would be fine for me, that is why I'm trying to make it work, but don't want to start buying things before I can have this confirmed by someone who already done that...

I think HDMI 1.4 supports 2560x1600 @ 60Hz
Edit: After some googling i am pretty sure it's 1920x1200 @ 60Hz max.
