Can i do any better on this build

Looking to upgrade my current i5-2500k as I want to use the parts in another system I already have a GALAX GTX970 and I will buy a new PSU maybe a EVGA 650watt (I have Seasonic G series 550w at the moment) which I'll use for now.

Can I do any better and will these parts all work together.

Looks good to me. You don't need a new psu as your Seasonic G 550w is more than enough for that plus a 970. Reviews show even Sli 970's to only have around 450w total system power draw so your single 970 will be around 300w or less.

Go Haswell, it is much better for the price

Especially if you have some DDR3 Laying around, you can go i7 4790K Instead

This will save you abit of money plus I don't think you'll notice the small performance gained by going Skylake.

For the OP, who is building from scratch, Skylake makes more sense especially as there's not a lot of sifference in pricing at the moment. His basket had 16Gb of ram in it compared to the 8Gb in your baskets and the i5 6600K is only £11 more than the i5 4690k while the i7 6700k is only £20 more than the i7 4790k while they are on offer. Intels prices are still disgraceful but at least he will be on the current socket.
