Can I expect a visit for insurance claim (door window)?

also if you book it in with the garage , most garages will allow the windscreen company to do the glass fitting on there premises at the same time so worse case is garage fit mechanism and glass company fits glass, as long as you pay the excess they dont normally bother.

one thing bothers me originally you said a stone hit the glass and broke it ? how did the slider get damaged ? worn out? or broken when glass shattered and maybe you tried to wind it up , if so it may still be included in the glass claim .

if electric and glass was partially down when it broke , you may have by accident pressed the up button?;)

Yes I pressed button and glass inside door must have damaged lifter, I could hear a lot of shattering, stupid of me to press it. You have two plastic lifters connected to the sliders, the bottom edge of the glass sits in these lifters.

One lifter was lying on the bottom of the inside of the door, I fished it out(it was stilled attached to the wire cable). A section of this lifter is broken though it still might be useable but I'm guessing it's not hence I need at least one new plastic lifter.

So I doubt autoglass will have this in stock, I can buy one from eBay(they're called regulator repair kits) however if buying from dealer or garage they only fit a whole inside section, it's a metal panel that's riveted in and comes into the hundreds of pounds.

Do you think autoglass would fit a lifter if I supplied it?

tbh looking at ebay they all seem to be clips etc or the circular bobbins that go into the metal track on the glass and clip into the regulator arms ..may help if i knew what vehicle but most i see from v/w to audi to maybe renault i would expect them to keep, as in the main principle is they need to fit the glass to get paid , so if it is one of those type items just wait till the guy comes to fit it and if they cant he will tell you . at worse you may have to get the part and rebook them again, and yes from what i see it should be fitted at the time by the glass company .

again what model and make of vehicle is it and year?

Just to say he just secured the window in with small rubber blocks. It's up to me to dismantle the door and fix the regulator. At least there is glass though. Fun!
