Hey guys.
I just bought a P8Z68-V/ GEN3 mobo, http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68VGEN3/ and an i5-3570K
And i think i made a noob mistake :(

I checked the cpu support list, and it says it supports the i5-3570K
But i didnt look at the bios version needed.

I tried fitting them today, and i cant get the pc to POST.
I just get 4 beeps.

I contacted the seller, and he confirmed he never updated the bios.
But i need bios 3201 at least :(

Is their anyway i can update the bios?
Or will i just have to buy another mobo and sell this one?

If that board supports Usb bios flashing then yes, you'd need to check the mb manual

If not then simply pull out the BIOS chip and order another with latest BIOS on it off asus themselves or fleabay

Yh just be carefull not to bend the metal prongs when pulling it out/in

I used a tiny flat bladed screwdriver to prise mine out
