I have made a video on my computer which is 70 gig in adobe premier pro. I am having difficulties getting of the computer down to dvd size.

I have bought two new hardrives. One for my operating system and one for my files I dont want to lose. I want to transfer the video to a new hard drive. If I do this and then format my computer using an additional hardrive, will I then be able to connect the hard drive with the video on?

What ever happens I do not want to lose this video!

OK, so am I right in thinking that you now have 3 HHDs in total? One already in the PC and 2 new ones?

The safe option would be to fit the new drive which you want to use for data storage to the PC now and then copy the 70Gb video onto the new drive. You should now have the video in 2 places, now take the new drive you've just added back out of the PC and put it somewhere safe.

Take the new drive you want the OS on and fit it to the PC and remove your original drive at the same time. Reinstall the OS and any other stuff you need on the new OS drive. Now you can plug the other 2 drives back in and organise your stuff appropriately - you may come across a problem when you put your original disk back in as you'll have two bootable drives in there but if you make sure the BIOS boot order is correct you'll be able to get past that without any hassle.
