2 monitors is a must but 3 would be nice, Windows 10, ssd is supposed to be faster ? 16g ram minimum apart from that open to suggestions

with the new Ryzen APU, much better build than your HP, you dont exactly need 450w unless you plan to put a decent graphics card in, but it was like a fiver more thn their 350w version, good size ssd for nice speedy action, case will hold a mech drive if you need storage, 16gb ram should be plenty.

Hi,

I need a new pc to replace my old hp s5320uk https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c01981423 it's old and slow now and it's having trouble running this software http://pixinsight.com can I get an ok build that will run that software ? http://pixinsight.com/sysreq/index.html

I've been spec'ing a few up on OC but they are coming in at £1000+.

I don't need anything else just the pc but do need a graphics card that will run to monitors.

Any suggestions ?

theres the core system. Ryzen + VEGA cpu chip . 4 cores 8 threads .
board has the ability to support 3rd gen ryzen in 2019/20 so system is future proof. could add a chip with more cores and GPU with GPU is supported with your program- at the moment it is not

***haha exo beat me to the punch!

problem with APU, you'll have to ask AMD for BIOS Update kit - or send board to Gigabyte ( if going gigabyte) for BIOS Update- other vendors dont do that but not sure if they will do for APU short term ?

Windows needs to be in the budget.

I only use two monitors at the moment, not sure if I’d get a 3rd tbh.

The main thing it will run that software easily and make a big improvement over what Ive got now.

you have £500, if not brand new is an option then theres plenty of older generation gaming systems up to skylake, hell even ryzen is possible and will be much better than your HP and what has been specced so far, hell you can buy the older HP or Dell workstations from £80

if you need windows, the most sensible option (albeit warranty may be an issue) is, as you've said - a 2nd hand workstation build off the bay with windows already installed.
probably looking a 4790, 16gb ram and 256gb ssd for reasonably cheap?
then add a gt 1030 if required for more gpu grunt

if you want new and including windows then either of these should be suitable at a cost of 8gb rather than 16gb and onboard graphics through all with only 2 allowing ssd as an option to keep in budgetish.
