Well my graphics card has seen better days so i am looking on getting a new temporary one i am not looking on spending more than £90 as i will get a better one towards the end of the year, i noticed that there is on the ocuk sale section the - OcUK GeForce 9800 GT 512MB SILENT GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - is it the best for the price or is there better Thanks.
 
Well i can only do the £90 unfortunatlly and i currently only have a X800 GTO 256mb which is no good but i hadn't needed better for a while thanks to my xbox 360 :P
 
My advice is to save the extra and get a much faster card in the 4850 will last you longer. You obviously keep your cards quit long judging by your current card so that 20 pound willget you around 20 percent more performance and sometimes more.
 
if you are planning to get a better card at the end of the year, why buy a card now when the end is just 4 months away?

you will be better off putting the £90 towards your better card then getting one now then selling it and getting another, however if you must buy a new card, think carefully about tha card you are buying especially if you are thinking of selling it on in a few months
 
Well She uses a lot for ebay and facebook but she is well into Sims 2 games and shes looking to get Spore when it comes out.
 
All of which will run even on the X800 GTO .

Personally i would suggest you save up and buy in the new year with the entire system. Or if you really want a new card the 4850 is defintiely the wiser choice.

Sorry but thats a pretty silly statement.

Whilst i wouldnt get either personally, between the two the 8800GT is often the better choice as their is no real difference between the two cards other than the 9800GT costs more. Its simply a rehashed / namechanged 8800GT. It offers nothing usefull extra. No way is it worth buying due to being newer tech - because the new tech primarily involves a digit change from 8 to 9 to fool uneducated people into thinking its newer tech.

Yea i just looked at the Leadtek GeForce 8800 GT ZL OC 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) it has 50mhz running more on the core and 125mhz on the shader clock but everything else is the same and for the same price think only thing different is that the 9800gt looks like it may have Vegas 2 with it.

Plus the 8800 has 2 year warranty when the 9800 has 1.
