Can I have a dual monitor for Windows and single monitor for gaming??

I've recently upgraded my monitor and am wondering whether I could have a setup whereby my Windows desktop is spread across the 2 screens but gaming could be restricted to a single panel?

My new monitor is a 144Hz panel and is bigger (32" as opposed to 27") so I doubt games would look very good if using both?

Apologies if these are stupid questions but I've never used more than 1 monitor before!

D3D full screen will use only your main monitor.

In Display Settings (right click the desktop) which ever monitor you select as 'Make this my main display' then that is the one the game will be shown on. For dual desktop under 'Multiple displays' just select 'Extend desktop to this display' for the 2nd monitor.
