Can I have a Quarter of?

There used to be a toffee factory near me that did big 250g bags of boiled sweets for 50p. They also sold cinder toffee, think that was probably my favourite. Massive bags of it and it was usually made fresh that day.

Floral gums
Chocolate nibbles
Powdered chocolatey stuff
White chocolate skulls

All equally awesome

It's always been uncle joe's mintballs or choc lick for me, I still get mintballs sometimes, because they are produced locally the asda here has special offers on sometimes where they promote them

Refreshers! Best. Thing. Evaar

Need a few flying saucers, white mice and those fizzy pink strips in there too.

I miss the tuck shop

They import them to the US. I was watching a video logger who lives in California and saw a shelf with Uncle Joe's mint balls on :D.

What where your favourite sweets back in the day?

You know the ones in the jar that the shopkeeper used to weigh and put in the little white paper bags.

Mine were: Bon Bons, Nutty Crunch and Tom Thumb Pips and Pearl Drops!

and aniseed balls, 1992 anyone ?

I liked (or rather licked) Strawberry Bon Bons. At least until the nice powdery bit was gone. Was t as keen on the toffee bit in the middle.

Skull Crushers, but only the original ones where you could poke the eyes out n make the blood ooze out of the eyeholes. (can't possibly imagine why they were changed? :) )

Oh n sherbet fountains. Ever sneezed when you have a mouthfull of this stuff? The resulting explosion and fallout cloud is most impressive.

Nowadays I like Jelly Belly beans. Expensive but bloody tasty.

We have a sweet shop over the road from us that sells all these old sweets. As you walk in you're greeted with wall to wall shelves holding jars and jars of the all old style sweets.

It's a little bit like going back to my childhood whenever I walk in there.

I tend to come out with Strawberry BonBons and chocolate raisins. The waistline permits me from indulging too much.
