can i have some of your spare time please guys (desks)

im running two monitors atm, and trying to decide between getting another two 24" monitors for eyefinity or wait for the asus 1440p ROG monitor

I have one of the "new" Malm desks (also had one of the old one).

Just put it up again in my new flat so can take some pictures of it without anything on if you want?

Yeh if you wouldn't mind buddy, if you could also do a pic when you have your PC setup, that would help a lot

Thanks

Mine has 3 legs, one on each end, and one in the far corner. Not sure on the holes in the top... the GF got it before I moved in! I've just stolen it for my PC!

Haha nice :D I will wait until I see this ikea malm desk then make a decision, if it's not a problem, could you find out if the leg holes are already there? Thanks

Galant desks have a metal frame underneath which the legs attach to, then the actual desk surface attaches to the frame. You can extend them by adding extra desk sections, which slot into the frame on your existing desk section.

I'll be going for a galant desk in my new place, it'll be a few hundred quid altogether but it'll be huge and have a 10 year warranty.

Will do, probably wont be till the weekend though as need to put some pictures up before I put the screens on the desk.

This is a picture of them both at my old flat (new version on the left with the cable management thing and old one without on the right):

Fits 3 screens @23" fine but 24" ones may slightly go over the edge

wikid, are these the desks with the pull-out?

looks like im going to have to go with the corner desk to fit my tower on the desk as well

if its not a problem, when you have a chance, could you see if they are the A-leg's or T-legs, and is the desk sturdy? thanks

Yup its with the pullout but I didnt install them in either.

The PC case sits under the desk but comes out the front less than an inch maybe.

It's got 3 of the T-legs. It definitely feels sturdy. Giving it a wobble it doesn't move very much at all. I've had my steering wheel on it, and the force feedback hasn't caused any wobble, unlike some other desks I've had previously!

Another nod towards the Gallant. What I especially like is that you can adjust the height of the legs and thus raise or lower the height of the desk. The fact you can add on more parts to increase your surface area is also a boon, although I could easily fit three monitors on mine as it is.

I've got a Malm desk with pullout. The pullout is only attached with two screws, so you can always fit it and just remove it if it gets in the way. The way I've got my desk laid out then I actually quite like it for dumping work papers on/if I need to use a laptop. I'm half tempted to use the pullout to make a monitor stand when I eventually get a bigger second monitor though. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't fancy going down the Galant or self-build routes.

(Apologies for quality, here's a couple of pics, one with and one without the pull-out out):
