Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a Windows installation/boot disk using a flash drive?
Im trying to upgrade from Vista32bit to Windows7 64bit, unfortuantly i getting the files from my Universitys Microsoft accedemic website and the file is only available as an ISO so i have no disk.
As far as i know it is not possible to install 64bit over a 32bit system so i need to do a clean install

and so is there a way to turn a flash drive into bootable installation device?

Thanks for your help,

First result from Google brings up this guide.

You say that you want to upgrade Windows, rather than a clean install.
This won't be possible from a 32-bit to a 64-bit Operating system; You will need to perform a clean install I'm afraid.

Sorry maybe i wasnt clear enough of what im trying to do in my first post.

I am trying to do a clean install

usually you would put the installation cd/dvd in, power up the machine and install it (without loading windows OS first)

what i am asking is, can i do this but by using a flash drive instead of a cd/dvd
