Can i leave my car parked on the road with no MOT?

surely the point is you can't park the car on the road unless its unsured and you can't insure without a valid MOT?

What makes you think this? Insurance and MOT are two separate things, obtaining one does not require the other. Purchasing road tax requires you to have both however.

doesnt insurance T&Cs in small print say the vehicle has to be roadworthy and have an MOT ?

The odd policy might, most simply state the vehicle has to be roadworthy. It's entirely possible (and sadly all too common) for a vehicle with a valid MOT certificate to be unroadworthy, and vice versa.
